What would cause Diary of a Wimpy Kids, Dog Days (1010) to have a higher Lexile Ranking that The Hobbit, 1000. It also has a higher Lexile than Harry Potter. When I checked on the Scholastic site, the Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Dog Days has a Lexile of 750.
The Lexile measure only takes into account semantic difficulty and syntactic complexity. The Lexile Framework does not take into account a book’s content, concepts or ideas, and themes.
